Salesforce Professional Edition Org types do not allow API access by default (Enterprise and Unlimited Editions do). You can easily determine your edition by logging into Salesforce and hovering over the browser tab. You can contact Salesforce Customer Support to have this feature enabled for an additional fee.

I use Developer edition, and there's where my App lies. Even then, many a times, i get 'API_DISABLED_FOR_ORG' error. The worst part is, it works very intermittent. Sometime I get the error and at times i wont. Very strange and frustrating.
We've never seen this before with our products. The API_DISABLED_FOR_ORG message originates from Salesforce. If you are using a Developer Edition (equates to Enterprise) and not a trial, all I can suggest is you try in another instance, with another username. If you are using one of our products, please check the ASP.NET log file (in DEBUG) for more hints.
